What is parasailing?
Parasailing is an exhilarating experience and a must for thrill seekers. Find out more on our parasailing page.
How do you take off and land?
You take off and land on the back (stern) of the boat (we call it the "fight deck"). You go aloft from a seated position and then return by taking one or two steps and sitting down. Flysobe staff will be present to assist you throughout!
Can I fly with someone?
Yes. Most people will fly with a friend or two, you can sit side by side (tandem) or triple. Restrictions apply. When asked, please be sure to tell the captain your correct weight, it's vital to your safety. Weather, wind, sea, and weight of each flyer are all factors that play a part in the captain's decision on single, tandem, or triple flying.
Do I need a reservation?

Yes. For safety and stability, combined weight of parasailers must be above 150lbs and cannot exceed 500lbs. For solo flights, this is usually easily managed, but for groups of two or three it can mean unavoidable restrictions. Please understand, your safety is our highest priority.
Also, due to fluctuating wind and water conditions, these limits may change throughout the day. Your captain will determine safe limits at the time of your flight and accommodate your group accordingly.

Will we fly in the bay or the ocean?
This depends entirely on weather and ocean conditions on the day. When ocean conditions are calm, you will fly directly in front of South Beach in the Atlantic Ocean. However, In the event that ocean conditions are deemed too rough, you'll fly in front of downtown Miami in Biscayne Bay.
How Long is the trip?
The trip is approximately 90 minutes total, with 8-10 minutes of flight time for each group.
Will I get wet?
Not necessarily, but getting wet is half the fun! At the end of your flight, you have the option for a controlled "dip" where your captain will slow the boat enough to allow you to skim the wate. This portion of the ride is optional, but highly recommended!
What Should I Wear?
We recommend that you wear a bathing suit or comfortable clothing that is ok to get wet. We also suggest sandals or other footwear that you can remove easily before you fly.

Yes. Please be aware, though, that you do so at your own risk. FlySOBE is not liable for loss or damage to your personal electronics, so consider the risks carefully before you decide what you want to bring!
